It is an important biological diversity wildlife reserve: there are more than 100 species of mammals, more than 320 kinds of birds and 1500 species of plants.

  • The park of WAZA (170 000 ha): lion, giraffe, elephant, cob, ostrich, damalisque, cheetah, waterbuck, etc… It is most famous of Cameroun and one of most spectacular in French-speaking Africa. Located at the extreme north, to 120 km of Maroua, it is an haven of peace for the deer and other animal species like for many varieties of birds. It is a park to be discovered absolutely.
  • The park of BOUBA NDJIDAH (220 000 ha): rhinoceros, lion, dash of Derby, elephant, etc… Located in the northern area is, to 270 km of Garoua, it is the territory of the rhinoceros.
  • The park of BENOUE (180 000 ha): hippopotamus, dash of Derby, hyena, panther, etc… In the center of the northern area, to 170 km of Garoua, it is the place of predilection of largest the antelopes known: dashes of Derby.
  • The park of the FARO (33O 000 ha), to 225 km of Garoua: rhinoceros, buffalo, elephant, guib harnessed, giraffe, etc… The western north of the area gathers many large animals.
  • The park of KALAMALOUE (45 000 ha), on the road of Kousseri in Extreme-North, is especially of an interest for in love ones with botany.
  • The park of MOZOKO GOKORO (1 400 ha): it is an extraordinary park by its richness vegetable in cash and animal. It is located, in the Department of Mayo Tsanaga, area of Extreme-North.
  • The National park of KORUP is located in the province of South-west. Covering a surface of 1259 km ², he is regarded as one of oldest and more beautiful tropical forests of the world. Natural reserves
Apart from the national parks, Cameroun proposes many concerning the African wildlife:
PANGAR-DJEREM, DJA, KIMBI, MBI CRATER, DOUALA EDEA, KALFOU, LAKE OSSA, SANTCHOU, BAFIA.

The reserve of the DJA is the sanctuary of the gorillas and of the chimpanzees… one can observe also there various other animal species and vegetable.

Ecotourisme is also practiced with the Cameroun Mount and in the protected areas (reserves of Lobeké, Dja, etc).

It is rich in biodiversity.

Several activities are practiced there: excursions in the dugouts on Nyong, fishes sporting, excursion on the botanical path with discovered various tropical gasolines (example of the tercentenary tree), very rare butterflies and insects.

The craft industry

The craft industry of Cameroun draws its richness from the presence of many ethnos groups and as many cultures and of traditions.

Foumban in 'country' Bamoun, is a large federation of peoples who forged his unit over the centuries. Two hundred ethnic groups, the kills, which submitted by cunning or force became Bamoun, speaking a single language.
The Bamum are led by a King Sultan, an appellation that emanates from the fact of its composite, incorporated population of Muslims and Christians. It is a people of great craftsmen who works wood, bronze, copper... just like a large part of the peoples of the Grassfields as to Bafut in the Northwest region. The Bafut Kingdom which was established around 500 years ago is one of the largest in the Northwest region.

The Bafut are semi Bantu - Tikar descent who emigrated from the Adamawa and settled in Bamenda in the 15th century. Mfor Feurlu founded the Kingdom by the unification of the two villages Bukari and Mbebili which he called Ba Feurlu. It is the German colonization in the 19th century that transformed this appellation in Bafut, due to a misinterpretation.

The Koma people, renowned for its authentic lifestyle in mountainous, is unique in its kind. Koma, growers in the Alantika mountains ("Allah Ntikan" which would mean local language reached by God alone) under the pressure of the Peulh invasion, have retained an ancestral civilization, away from the major roads.
In this cultural sanctuary, this people, simply wearing of thong, reinvents every day fire, thanks to the magic of flint.

Formalities of entry

The banks are generally opened with the customers of 7:00 to 15:00.
The exchange is not possible that in the banking institutions, the large hotels and certain agencies tourist.
